New Dinghy Park Layout

It has been agreed by the Sailing Committee and General Committee that changes will be made to the Dinghy Park and Car Parking areas. We understand that nobody likes change so far as possible, we have tried to avoid moving any boats unnecessarily and appreciate your cooperation with this ongoing project.

We will always face the problem that demand for parking spaces outstrips the number of spaces available. As such, we continue to rely on our members to hand back spaces that are no longer being used. The new layout is based on accurate measurements and a survey of parked boats conducted last summer. We believe that the data collected has greatly assisted the reallocation of space to be more efficient and accommodate more boats and cars overall.

2024 stickers are on order and we hope to have them within the next 2 weeks. We have also ordered a set of marine grade stainless steel discs with corresponding numbers. These will be secured to the parking chains or fences to make it easier for everyone to park in the correct place. Please look out for these discs when you park your boat(s) and ensure that you are in the correct place(s). If you are lucky enough to have more than one parking place, we would be grateful if you could make sure that your boats and spaces don't get mixed up.

Copies of these plans are posted on the notice board outside and inside the clubhouse. You can find out where you should be parking your boat (or boats) in the members hub https://www.bssc.net/moorings just look for "My berths / spaces". You may see someone else's boat listed here, this will be because you have been listed as crew/co-owner for that boat in the past. If you don't see your boat listed please check that you have paid for a space by looking in "My invoices" and contact us at the_clubhouse@bssc.net if you think there may be an error.

We plan to mark out the car parking spaces to encourage everyone to park an appropriate distance from each other, but this will only be possible when the ground is a little drier. We also hope to be allocating any available spaces to members on the waiting list over the next few weeks.

We do rely on everyone's cooperation with this project and hope that you find the new layout to be effective.
