RYA Powerboat Level 1
Content: Basic boat handling, including launching and recovery, steering controls, securing to a buoy and leaving and coming alongside.
Duration: 1 Days (6 hours total of which 4 hours is spent on the water).
Pre Course Ability: None required
Ability after course: An understanding of how to launch and recover a powerboat, and an awareness of the basic controls and safety considerations.
Students will be issued with an RYA Powerboat Level 1 Certificate upon successful completion of the course.
Students under 16 will be issued with an endorsed certificate (subject to successful completion).

Minimum Age: 12. Students under 16, must be accompanied by a parent / guardian.
RYA Powerboat Level 2
Content: Basic boat handling, launching and recovery of craft, picking up a mooring, coming alongside, anchoring, driving at planing speed, man overboard. Theory of tides, weather, collision regulations, buoyage and introduction to navigation.
Duration: 2 Days (16 hours total of which 4 hours is spent on the water each day).
Pre Course Ability: None required
Ability after course: Self sufficient small powerboat driver.
Students will be issued with an RYA Powerboat Level 2 Certificate upon successful completion of the course. They will also be eligible to apply for an International Certificate of Competence (ICC).
Powerboat Level 2 is also a pre-requisite to complete an RYA Dinghy Instructor Course.
Students under 16 will be issued with an endorsed certificate (subject to successful completion) but will not be eligible to apply for the ICC.
Minimum Age: 12. Students under 16, must be accompanied by a parent / guardian.

Non Members: £370
Bookings of 3 people are eligible for 5% discount.
RYA Safety Boat
Content: Techniques for assisting dinghies and windsurfers, providing safety cover, search and rescue techniques and towing. Theory of rescuing kite surfers and canoes / kayaks and equipment to be carried on board.
Duration: 2 Days (12 hours total of which 4 hours is spent on the water each day).
Pre Course Ability: Students must hold a Coastal RYA Powerboat Level 2 Certificate. An understanding of sailing is also beneficial.
Ability after course: Able to provide Safety Boat cover for sailing dinghies and windsurfers.
Students will be issued with an RYA Safety Boat Certificate upon successful completion of the course. This is a pre-requisite course to become an RYA Senior Dinghy Instructor.

Non Members: £370

Private Powerboat Tuition (2 Hours)
Content: This is private tuition and can be tailored to you and can be run in your own boat. Please note that you must ensure you have valid insurance cover to have tuition carried out in your own craft.
This is not an RYA course and is therefore not certificated.
Duration: 2 Hours (on the water)
Pre Course Ability: None required
Price: £195 (£100 in own boat.
The above price is for up to 3 people. Please note that 3 or 4 hour sessions can also be arranged. Further details upon request.
