    End of Season Club events

With lighter winds than predicted, those sailors that got up in the dark enjoyed some stunning early morning autumnal sailing. On Saturday John and Gilly Ellison led the way home for the Hawks then on Sunday, following a strong tide that saw most of the fleet washed over the start line and a frustrating general recall, line honours went to Jonathan and Sally Groome. But with

    Private Events

There was a good turnout from the Lasers on Saturday for the 2nd Autumn points and varied Hawk racing throughout this weekend. With light winds on Saturday suiting team Odell, others became frustrated by the tide. Fortunately, spirits were revived with a fabulous Hawk Autumn Dinner in the clubhouse! All of this reversed on Sunday afternoon, with strong winds, team McIrvine came out on top. Four different winners of the four

    Great racing last weekend

The idea of the mini regatta was to encourage racing in the traditionally quieter months. 9 hawks and 12 allcomers took part over the weekend with results (and prizes) broken out for hawks, dominant fleet, allcomers and junior Toppers. A force 2-3 kicked in and stayed for the weekend. The tides were huge giving the Race officers Matt and Karen Godbold plenty of challenges (including a dragging start line). 2 decent

    Mini Summer, Mini Regatta

If you were in Brancaster this weekend, you couldn't fail to notice Shanty Fest! We had so much fun, with four stellar groups performing in the clubhouse on Saturday and Sunday. Our local group "Nelson's Shantymen" rounded off the weekend with a fantastic set list including their beautiful ballad Overy Strand. Meanwhile, out on the water, low tides

    Autumn is here

The local Sharpie sailors met on Saturday with very still, grey conditions. Many thanks to Race Officer Paddy Spink for this beautiful photo. The wind did pick up on Sunday morning and the fleet completed four races over two days. Congratulations to Will Ellison and Tom Godwin for winning the Las Dye trophy! Next weekend's racing will be

    Sunny September

We've had a cracking summer here and wish to thank all our members for supporting the club so enthusiastically over the past month. I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank all our amazing staff. In the bar, Keith was supported by Sam, Yasmin, Amy, Poppy, Lucy, Molly, Evie, Bella, Charlotte, and Angus. In the kitchen we were fortunate to enjoy amazing food from Brian and his team Joe, Oscar,

A very mixed bag of sailing conditions here

It's been a mixed bag of weather here this week. Storm Lilian prevented any racing on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Sadly the Laser 3000 series had to be cancelled. You may have seen video footage of our superhero, Bruce go swimming to rescue a Laser 2000 on Friday morning! Everything calmed down for the weekend and we had a great turnout for round the island with fabulous

    More beautiful sailing weather here

We've had lots of members keen to make the most of fabulous sailing conditions this week. There was a great turnout from the Junior Topper and Laser sailors, strong attendance for the Idler Bowl Series and 14 participants for Women on the Water (the last for 2024). Race results are available to view on the website .

Beautiful Weather and lots of sailing events planned

2024 winners After a week of casual, afternoon sailing, it was a bit of a shock to be up so early for racing on Tuesday morning. However, the conditions were perfect with a good south westerly breeze. We had a total of 123 entries across harbour and sea fleets this year and some very close racing results. The laser 2000 sea fleet

    Summer Sun is here :)

It really has (finally) felt like summer this week. After such miserable weather for so long, it feels as though a weight has lifted and everyone is celebrating at BSSC. We've had a wonderful week of sail training, congratulations to all participants, instructors, organisers and volunteers. There are still spaces available for summer coaching taking place on 31st July, 1st August, 2nd August, 14th August, 15th August and 16th August.

Summer and sail training have arrived

Finally, some lovely weather so that everyone can enjoy the balcony again. There was no racing last weekend but the Women on the Water group met up for an afternoon sail on Saturday and the Hawk fleet have enjoyed several social sails with dinner in the clubhouse after. The clubhouse has been very busy with members enjoying drinking and dining outside all weekend. BBQ tickets for Wednesday evening are available
