The Easter Bunny is coming!

Keith would like to take responsibility for the last, very soggy, week - he collected a new motorbike last weekend which for sure is the reason for non stop rain ever since! As we move to spring opening times and a busy Easter weekend, Keith won't have so much time to play, so I don't doubt the weather will be much drier ;)
Charlie Tyler continues to work his magic on the new club website. These features are on the main part of the website and visible to all: You can now see club merchandise available in the shop and a link to order directly from Birds of Dereham beware polo shirts do come up very large! There is a "for sale / wanted" area under the heading Classifieds so you can advertise your outgrown boats and sailing equipment or shop for 2nd hand items - please keep it boat related. There is a new tab on the home page for Results so anyone keen enough to be out racing in the Frostbite series or Easter egg race next weekend will be able to see how they got on. You can now download the BSSC calendar and sync it to your smartphone calendar by clicking the "subscribe" button. If you click on an event e.g. a race on the website calendar you will see tide time and height, the race officer and other volunteers on safety boat duties. Clicking on a social event will show additional information such as menus once they become available. You can also download a PDF of 2023 tide times.
The following features are private and can be found in the members hub so you need to be logged in. If you have not yet received a log in notification, please do get in touch. There is now a Crew / Boat finder feature enabled, where members can detail their availability and preferences or look for boats to sail. You will also find your dinghy parking space(s) in "My Boats" in the members hub, this year's stickers are ready for collection in the clubhouse. Please do check your space as we occasionally need to move boats to accommodate as many members as possible. Parking allocations are not automated so it is really important that you tell us by email if you change your boat. You may need to be added to a waiting list (not all boats fit in all spaces). Buying a boat from another member does not guarantee a parking space, you will need to let us know because spaces are reallocated to members who have been waiting longest. If you are ever in any doubt, the best thing is to talk to us.
Below is a preview of the spring a la carte menus. There will also be sweet and savoury bar snacks available all day, and specials on the board. We have introduced more information to the menu regarding special dietary requirements and many dishes are available as gluten free, so please do ask us when ordering your food and we will do everything possible to accommodate requests. |
