Gloriously Sunny (and windy) weekend

Although Thursday was quite chilly, we very much enjoyed the blue skies and warm sunshine this weekend. There was also plenty of wind to keep racing exciting for both sailors and spectators.

Many thanks to our members who came along with decorated boats for our on-the-water VE Day parade. You all looked amazing! Thanks to Steve Wightman for organising, Stephen Harvey for leading the safety boats, everyone who put on a woolly hat and went sailing and Charlie Parfitt for rescuing a stranded dog and returning it to it's owner!

Some days are just made for sailing and Saturday was one. Sun out and a f3-5 from the east and a fabulous course set by first time race officer Sam Kingston. With the wind from the east and against the tide (for extra fun) the reach from west to tern was one to remember... 4 times!

Thank you for the photos from Musketeer and Spindrift they are now on our instagram page

The forecast for next Saturday is for dry and mild weather. We will be putting on a club BBQ at lunchtime and everybody is welcome, please book tickets online to join us. It would be great to have an idea of how many are coming by Wednesday as this is when we place the orders with our butcher, baker and green grocer for weekend delivery.

Next weekend we have the Les Dye trophy and Lester Soultherland tiller for Sharpies. Sharpie sailors are encouraged to register online so that we can be sure of enough safety boat cover. If you have any difficulty with the online registration, just drop me a messagewith your boat name and sail number (if known) also include your crew name if you know who this will be.

RYA Instructors! Please take a look at your first aid certificates and make sure you are still in date. We will be looking at running another 1st aid course before sail training so that you have the chance to refresh if you need to. If you are interested in joining a course (probably at the end of May) please email to let us know.

Do watch out for Thursday's email with menus, Windy.com forecast and race fixtures for the weekend arriving to your inbox. We always recommend booking your table by email the_clubhouse@bssc.net to avoid disappointment.
