Events
- Booking the Clubhouse for a private event may only be done by Club members without specific permission from the House Committee.
- The event organiser must be a Club member. The Club wishes to avoid taking bookings from members and then dealing with non-member organisers. The Members Services Manager will take bookings and act as a liaison point, the event organiser will remain responsible for overall numbers, collating dietary requirements, agreeing menus/drinks to be served etc.
- Private parties may only be booked when the Club is otherwise closed. It is expected that most bookings will be during the quieter months of the year (October to April) to avoid over-loading Club staff.
- Maximum numbers will be set at 50 seated; 150 if not seated and using the exterior
- The Club would expect an event to generate a minimum spend in bar and catering of £500. If the event generates less than that a room booking fee of £125 will be charged for the event.
- Wine corkage will be charged at £8.50 per bottle. Members should expect to buy spirits, beer and soft drinks across the bar.
- Any breakages or additional cleaning post-event will be charged as extra's to the event organiser.
- Outside caterers may be used, but agreements on kitchen breakages, cleaning and equipment use must be made in advance.
- The Members Services Manager will take bookings, all of which will be authorised by the Commodore and/or House Committee. At their discretion booking fees and other charges may be amended for suitable causes.
- Event organisers should expect to add a percentage to their bill for staff gratuities. Sums received will be shared between the staff on duty for the event.
- For reasons of good neighbourliness, the Club limits late night events (finishing after 11pm) through the year and may refuse events that are likely to be noisy or finish late.
- Sit down meals of 20 - 30 people, may choose up to 2 items + a vegetarian option from the menus. Bookings of over 30 people, may choose 1 item + a vegetarian option from the menu.
