We are very excited to announce our RSPB fundraising evening on Friday 27th January. Wynona Legg, Ringed Plover Project Officer from RSPB Titchwell has been working closely with members at Snettisham Beach Sailing Club since the launch of the Plovers in Peril project in 2021. Wynona will share details of the project's progress, how the birds fared at the Snettisham site this season and how members of other sailing clubs could get involved to safeguard populations of ground nesting birds at other sites on the Norfolk coast. Members from all NWNSA clubs are invited to attend this fascinating presentation about the lives and breeding cycles of these incredible birds. Doors open at 18:00, the presentation will begin at 18:30 and will be followed by a two course set menu at £25 per person. £5 from each attendee will be donated to the RSPB. If you wish to attend the presentation but not dinner, please specify this when booking by email.

Calling all Dinghy Instructor Candidates!
We plan to run a Dinghy Instructor course after Easter (Monday 10th April to Saturday 15th April). We can train 6 candidates who will need to meet RYA criteria of "experienced sailors in strong winds".
Applicants also need to have the following qualifications:
Assistant Instructor
Power Boat level 2 certificate
Current 1st aid certificate
RYA Safe and Fun certificate
Pre-assessment within one year prior of the course (you could be asked to demonstrate anything in the Seamanship Skills course).
The cost for the course will be £250 and will be run by Ben Lulham who was our RYA Inspector last year.
Depending on demand, we may be able to help with running a Pre-assessment day earlier in April and organising a first aid course. If you are interested in applying or would like to know more, please email Tim How by 31st January.

This Sunday we will be open for lunch, if you can book by email and let us know your choice of meat, it really helps us reduce waste and seat as many members as possible. We look forward to seeing you soon
