Dear Members,
Look closely, can you see something in the photo that was not there last week? Yes, the crab hut is back, it must be spring! This could be the last time you see Buccaneer in a BSSC photo, a deposit for the sale has been paid to the club yesterday morning, so we wave a fond farewell to the safety boat that has served us well for many years.
Keith and Alex will be away on annual leave from tomorrow, Tuesday 28th February until Wednesday 15th March. The Clubhouse will be closed during this time and we will not be available to answer emails or phone queries. If you are have an urgent matter, please email bsscsarah@gmail.com. We have decided to extend the membership renewal period until 15th March, any members who have not completed their renewal and payment by this time, risk losing dinghy parking spaces associated with their membership.
February's volunteer hero is Stephen Harvey who has taken on the task of getting our new safety boat ready for action. This has meant coming to the clubhouse to work in freezing conditions most days this winter. He and Jane are currently away on a very well deserved holiday in the sun and work will no doubt resume when they return this week. Thanks Stephen!
The clubhouse bar will reopen from 16:00 on Saturday 18th March for the final 6 Nations England V Ireland match. This will be broadcast live from Dublin at 17:00. Sunday lunches will resume on Mother's Day 19th March, menu shown below, please send an email to book and we will respond when we get back.
One last reminder, there may be a road closure on Main Road in the vicinity of Harbour Way this week and a signed diversion will be in place if this is the case. Access to Harbour way could be disrupted on these days.
We are still interested in hearing from any members who might have suitable rooms near to Brancaster Staithe to rent for staff accommodation in July & August 2023.
