Dear Members, Ok, it's a bit grey here today and I'm sure that's because I was telling everyone that Monday's are nearly always sunny! At least it's stopped raining though. Can you spot the missing item? Buccaneer has now gone to her new home to serve another sailing club and Stephen Harvey continues to work hard to get the new club safety boats ready for launch in a few weeks time. If you have not completed your membership renewal, please contact us by phone urgently (07747 597902) or your membership will lapse and any dinghy parking you have will be reallocated to someone on the waiting list. Please do not bring your boat to the sailing club if you have not paid your membership. Stickers are on order and we will post the parking plan on the notice board soon. We plan to make the move to sending weekly newsletters from the new members hub and are aware that many associate members have registered their email address with our existing system and might not receive communications when we make this change. To avoid missing out, the full member needs to login to the members hub, click the "My Profile" button and then you will see a green banner with associates listed in blue. Simply click on the name of the associate and add relevant email addresses for everyone to receive our weekly updates. It was lovely to see so many people for Mother's Day Sunday Lunch. The menu for next Sunday is shown below, please send us an email to book and don't forget to let us know what time you'd like to eat. The Cruiser fleet will be having their monthly lunchtime get together. If you are interested in finding out about sailing some of the bigger boats at BSSC, anyone is welcome to join them and find out more. After lunch we will show live coverage of the Gemini Oxford Vs Cambridge boat race. The women's race starts at 4pm and the men's at 5pm. Oxford triumphed in the men's race last year for the first time since 2017 and Cambridge women claimed their fifth successive victory but can they do it again? We will be holding our Murder Mystery evening on Friday 28th April (apologies for the typo in a past email that said August). Tickets cost £30 and includes 3 course dinner and a glass of prosecco. Please book by email and let us know your character preference - "Crew" or "Passenger" The menu is shown below. Nominations to sit on the parish council are coming up and forms need to be in to the Borough council by April 4th. All the necessary information can be found at: Becoming a parish councillor | Becoming a parish councillor | Borough Council of King's Lynn & West Norfolk (west-norfolk.gov.uk) We are still interested in hearing from any members who might have suitable rooms near to Brancaster Staithe to rent for staff accommodation in July & August 2023. We would love to hear from anyone over 18 years old who can commit to 20 hours work in either the kitchen or bar per week from the last week in July until the end of August. We do hope to see you all soon | | |
