Safeguarding Policy Update

Published 13:45 on 9 Jun 2026

The Club's updated is now available to view at https://www.bssc.net/club-rules-policies/policies.

Safeguarding is not just the responsibility of instructors, volunteers, committee members or parents it is everyone's responsibility. Every member has a role to play in helping to create a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment where children, young people and vulnerable adults can enjoy sailing and club activities and where Club employees under 18 are treated with respect.

We encourage all members to take a few minutes to familiarise themselves with the policy, understand how to recognise and report concerns, and support the Club's commitment to safeguarding best practice.

If you have any safeguarding concerns, however small they may seem, please speak to one of the Club's Welfare Officers (Jason Hyatt, Jemma Macfadyen, Jenny Barnes, Hannah Kingston) or email cwo@bssc.net.

Phone numbers are included in the policy and on posters in the clubhouse.
