Beautiful Weather and lots of sailing events planned

We are now actively recruiting for organisers and a Sea Fleet Race Officer for 2025. If you are interested in taking on either of these vital roles, we'd love to hear from you.

• The organiser roles, require little in the way of racing or sailing experience, good organisation and communication skills are a must. Much of the heavy lifting has been taken on by our Members' Hub with sign-up and payment systems handled for you. James and Caroline will testify that it's a great opportunity to get to know a lot of other members and will provide a thorough handover and full set of guidance notes. The sailing week team are also available to offer assistance and support throughout the preparation as well as sailing week itself (18th-22nd August 2025).
• The role of race officer would be perfect for someone with racing and race officer experience. Plenty of support (both on and off the water) is on hand for anyone thinking of taking this on. Please do get in touch via email if you can play a lead role in the most exciting week of our racing year.

Anyone with Herculean energy reserves, went out racing again yesterday morning in absolutely stunning conditions. Full results for yesterday and last week are available to view on the website.

The Laser, Topper & Handicap series for Junior racers is now underway and concludes tomorrow. On Wednesday and Thursday we have fun safaris with BYO picnics on the beach. Please sign up on the website for these safaris so that we can plan safety cover.

On Friday there will be some race coaching in the afternoon. If you couldn't work out what was going wrong with your race tactics, start line drill, spinnaker hoist etc, Sarah Kemp will help you identify the problem and find the solution. Or maybe you never raced before and all the buzz surrounding last weeks' activities has left you wanting to find out more? All are welcome, please also sign up in advance so that we can plan effective safety cover for you.

Next weekend we have the Idler Bowl series, Hawk August series, Junior Jamieson Cup, the final race in the Cockle series and Women on the Water. You may have a rest (if you wish) on Monday and Tuesday before the Junior series and Laser 3000 Nationals commence on Wednesday!

Tickets are on sale for the next big BSSC bash! The Frocks and Flip-flops end of August Party will be held on Sunday 25th August. Tickets are all inclusive for canapés, drinks and supper. Members are able to bring guests to this event, as always, please sign your guests in using the visitors book by the front door. Don't miss out Book now!

If you have a trophy form 2023, please return it to the clubhouse so that we can begin the process of engraving ready for prize giving.
